WIND, WEATHER AND OUR AWESOME BEACH!:

Jacaranda Beach
Kiting in Jacaranda Beach is exceptionally safe with a consistent side-on wind. Jacaranda beach has great flat water and a vast sandbank during low tide. Tidal fluctuations determine appropriate kiting hours each day.
The water conditions are also ideal for kite foiling (hydrofoil) when the tide is up, with a range of 15cm to 300cm. Jacaranda is situated halfway between Malindi and Watamu. It is less crowded than other kite spots around and thus a great place to learn and practice!
Kitesurfing season in Kenya spans from late December to March and June to mid-September, featuring very constant and stable wind. The wind direction in Jacaranda Beach is side/side-on.
Our high season is called Kazkazi (December - March), wind speeds range between 14 - 25 knots, requiring medium to big kites.
Our low season is called Kusi (June - mid-September), wind speeds vary between 14 - 30 knots, necessitating a variety of kite sizes.
Other months - April, May, October and November - we have occasional kiting days, but the wind is unreliable.

Temperatures

With consistently warm temperatures, Jacaranda Beach offers a tropical beach experience regardless of the season. Most of the year, the water temperature remains at an average of 28°C, but it may dip to 23°C in July and August.
